Improving access and health outcomes for the uninsured and underinsured across the St. Louis region

A National Model for Health Care

Following the closure of the last public hospital in St. Louis, the region faced a fiscal crisis jeopardizing the St. Louis health care safety net. The St. Louis Regional Health Commission (RHC) was formed in 2001 to ensure the financial stability of the safety net and develop an integrated health system that continues to support uninsured and vulnerable patients across the community.
