Regional Collaborations

The Regional Health Commission remains committed to alignment and coordination as we respond to issues that arise with regional impact as informed by the data we collect and partners we engage. Our regional collaborations historically and continue to align with our strategic priorities.

Over the course of the RHC’s 20-year history, four organizations have taken the reins on past RHC-initiated projects and continued the work as individual nonprofits: Alive and Well Communities, St. Louis Integrated Health Network, Behavioral Health Network of Greater St. Louis, and Health Literacy Media.

More recently, the RHC has also been a catalyst in our region’s response to COVID-19 with the work of PrepareSTL and addressing gun violence through the Bullet Related Injury Clinic – both current initiatives with external partners with the potential for long-term existence. In addition, the RHC served as a founding partner for both the National Association of Health Services Executives – St. Louis Chapter and the St. Louis Partnership for a Healthy Community.

The RHC relies upon and supports the work of these organizations and collaborations as our united mission continues to improve health care access and outcomes for all. Take a closer look at these partners below:

Alive and Well Communities

Alive and Well Communities is a nonprofit organization focused on activating communities in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois to address the trauma experienced by their residents. They are dedicated to shifting cultures and systems and helping people develop pathways to healing, well-being, and equity.

St. Louis Integrated Health Network

The St. Louis Integrated Health Network, through collaboration and partnership, strives for quality, accessible, and affordable health care services for all residents of Metropolitan St. Louis, with an emphasis on the medically underserved.

Behavioral Health Network of Greater St. Louis

The Behavioral Health Network of Greater St. Louis is a collaborative effort of providers, advocacy organizations, government leaders, and community members dedicated to developing an accessible and coordinated system of behavioral health care throughout the eastern region of Missouri, with emphasis on services to the uninsured and underinsured citizens of St. Louis City and Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, St. Charles, St. Louis, and Warren Counties.

Health Literacy Media

Health Literacy Media is an award-winning, interdisciplinary team of creative content and usability experts, with more than 100 years of combined experience in health literacy, public health and policy, research, plain language medical writing, communications, and graphic design. Their team has become national thought leaders in health literacy.

PrepareSTL

PrepareSTL is a collaborative outreach campaign, which provides vital information and resources to disproportionately impacted community members (specifically low-to-moderate income African Americans and people of color living in St. Louis City and County) to help them stop the spread of the coronavirus and survive its adverse social and economic impacts.

National Association of Health Services Executives – St. Louis Chapter

The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a non-profit association of Black health care executives founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders, and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities.

St. Louis Partnership for a Healthy Community

The St. Louis Partnership for a Healthy Community is comprised of a broad range of public health stakeholders from leading community organizations and individual advocates who subscribe to a comprehensive definition of health. In 2014 the Partnership developed the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). A CHIP is grounded in data and created in collaboration with community partners to set priorities and coordinate and target resources. It is critical for developing policies and defining actions to promote efforts that improve health.

Vaccinate STL

The decision to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is a personal one. Vaccinate STL aims to connect people with clear facts and resources that can help individuals make an informed decision for themselves and their family members on whether or not to obtain the vaccine. Vaccinate STL is brought to you in partnership with the St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force, a collaboration between regional hospital systems, public health departments, elected leaders, and community organizations, all working together to provide the best possible care to patients.
