ST. LOUIS, February 6, 2020 — Cheryl D. S. Walker, Chair of the Saint Louis Regional Health Commission (RHC), announced today that Angela Fleming Brown has been selected to lead the organization as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Brown was selected following an extensive, nationwide search.
Formed in 2001, the RHC is a collaborative effort of St. Louis City, St. Louis County, the state of Missouri, health providers, and community members to improve the health of uninsured and underinsured citizens in St. Louis City and County. In partnership with the Missouri Department of Social Services, the RHC coordinates, monitors and reports on the “Gateway to Better Health” Pilot Program population from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Through a network of community providers, the RHC aims to fulfill their mission by providing primary, specialty and urgent care coverage to uninsured adults, ages 19-64, living in poverty in St. Louis City and County.

With nearly 15 years of public health experience, Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Stillman College and master’s degree in public health from Saint Louis University. Brown joined the RHC in 2007 and most recently served as the Acting Chief Executive Officer. Prior to stepping into the acting role, she served as the RHC’s Chief of Staff where she coordinated employee activities, ensured program alignment with local organizations and initiatives, and led efforts to disseminate information to regional healthcare providers regarding trauma-informed care.

Following a defined selection process, Furst Group, a healthcare executive search and consulting firm, was selected by the search committee of the RHC Board to lead the national CEO search.
